By the numbers: The Kroger-owned chain made up nearly 37% of the city's grocery market share in 2024 — holding the top spot for the seventh straight year, per recent data from sales-tracking firm Chain Store Guide.
That's more than Walmart and Safeway combined, which together made up under 28% of the market.
